Olympus has a long history of innovation in the digital camera industry. Olympus is a pioneer in interchangeable mirrorless lens cameras. Their products are now called the OM System. These cameras, despite the name change are still geared towards image or video photography.

If you're looking for an affordable yet high-quality camera that will suit your travel needs, the Olympus E-M5 Mark III is a great option. It features a fast processor, better image stabilization and improved sensor. The mirrorless camera is small and lightweight. Compared to its predecessor, the E-M1 Mark II, it has a smaller body, and a new AI system. You can also use the E-M5 Mark III to shoot 4K video.

The E-M1 Mark II camera is an excellent option for photographers who don’t have the budget for full-size cameras. It features a 20MP sensor and a redesigned AF system. It is faster and provides more autofocus. It also offers 4K video, 7.5-stop image stabilizer and 4K video. Additionally, the processor has been updated and there is a builtin grip.

E-M1 Mark III also comes at a more affordable price than mirrorless systems. This camera is not the best choice if your goal is to get started. However, this camera is worth considering for professional photographers or general practitioners.

Olympus cameras can last a lifetime. These cameras can take up to sixty photos with alkaline batteries. Rechargeable models are also available. A rechargeable battery that contains nickel metal hydride is the best.

Olympus also pioneered live view technology. With its E-20, the company introduced a live view that's now standard in DSLR tech. It was a low resolution screen at the time but quickly proved to be revolutionary technology.

Olympus’ OMD series is a modern digital interpretation of the OM series. The OM–D series was jointly developed with Panasonic. It includes a large variety of cameras that are designed to meet the demands of professional photographers. A variety of lenses are also available, including the super-small telephoto. OM-D is also known for its ergonomic button layout and built-in electronic viewfinder.

The good news? You don’t have to purchase a completely new lens for every new camera you buy. You can instead add lenses later.

For starters, here are three types of lenses you might want to consider.

  1. Wide Angle Lens: 14mm - 24mm: These lenses provide a wide angle of vision, which allows you to capture more details of your subject. You can zoom in to improve image quality.
  2. Standard/Normal Zoom Lens (28mm – 70mm): These lenses allow for you to adjust focal lengths and maintain image quality.
  3. Telephoto Zoom Lens (70mm–200mm) : These lenses are ideal for photographing distant subjects. They let you focus on your subject even though they appear small in the frame.

How To

How to photograph in low light conditions

Low-light photography refers to taking photos in dimly lit or dark environments. It requires special equipment. The key challenges are in controlling exposure, white balanced, and sharpness. There are two types of low light photography: flash and ambient. Flash photography works well when you have enough light. If there isn’t enough natural lighting, you will need to use a flash. For example, if your subject is indoors but outside, there might not be enough light to capture a good picture without a flash. Try shooting at night, during the moonlit hours, if you don't need a flash. This will allow you to get nice shadows and colors. Another option to consider is shooting during twilight. Twilight is when the sun sets but there's still daylight.

Also, you might want to try long exposures. Long exposures allow you to record images after the shutter has been open for several minutes. If the shutter is closed, the camera records only the light that falls onto the sensor. This light continues to fall onto a photo sensor throughout a prolonged exposure. The shutter is still closed so no light can enter the lens. Therefore, there is very little movement. To ensure clear images, disable any autofocus and exposure settings. Before you begin shooting, adjust your ISO setting. An ISO setting of 200 allows you to adjust how bright or dark the image looks. When you're ready for the shot, press quickly the shutter button. This will make the shutter close completely. Hold the shutter button down for the final second. The shutter button should be held down to prevent more light from entering the camera. Once you have taken the image, wait for a few seconds before you release it. This will allow the camera to process your image. While you wait, your photos will be displayed on your computer's screen. Once you are satisfied with the photos, save them onto your computer.
