Early arrival

There are many reasons why you might be arriving early to a wedding for the first time. Perhaps you're visiting the venue, or are just passing through and want to have a look around before others arrive. Perhaps you have underestimated the distance or misread a wedding website's arrival times. No matter what reason, it is important to arrive 30 minutes early so you don't become a nuisance for other guests.

To ensure that you are in a good spot to speak to the celebrant, as the groom you will need to arrive at the venue at least 15 min early. Before the ceremony begins you'll need to take photos alongside the mother of and father of the bridal party.

Do I Need A Tripod?

This is one question that everyone wants to know. While a tripod isn’t necessary every time, it is useful.

It helps you keep your camera steady while taking pictures at slow shutter speeds. A tripod can make all the difference when you're photographing landscapes or other stationary subjects.

On the other hand, if you're photographing moving subjects such as sports or people, using a tripod can cause blurriness. How do you decide which situations are best served by a tripod.

A tripod is useful in situations where you want to take pictures of fast action and stationary subjects. Examples include:

  • Sports
  • People
  • Landscapes
  • Close-ups
  • Macro shots

Try this test to find out if you really need a tripod. Look through the viewfinder with your camera steady. If you see blurred lines or movement, then you definitely need a tripod.

If there isn't blurring you won't notice any benefit from adding a tripod.

If you do decide on a tripod purchase, these are some things to remember.

  • You should ensure that your tripod has smooth legs. This helps to prevent vibrations from shaking the camera.
  • You should choose a sturdy tripod. Some tripods may be made from plastic, which can make them less durable. Opt for a sturdy metal tripod.
  • You might consider purchasing a remote control. This allows you to control your camera remotely. This allows you to set the shutter to automatically fire when you press it.
  • Make sure to look for a tripod that rotates 360 degrees. This makes it easier for you to position your camera horizontally, or vertically.
  • You should keep in mind that tripods don't come cheap. Expect to spend between $100 and $200. You'll still get a lot for your money.
  • Accessories such as filters and memory cards should be considered.
  • Before shopping online, be sure to visit your local shop. Many retailers offer free shipping.
  • To find out what customers think about a product, read reviews.
  • Ask family members and friends who own similar products.
  • To learn more about customer experiences, you can visit forums and message board.
  • Look online for user reviews.
  • Amazon.com offers the ability to search for prices and view customer feedback.

How To

How to take photos in low light conditions

Low-light photography refers to taking photos in dimly lit or dark environments. It requires special equipment. The main challenges are controlling exposure, white-balance, and sharpness. Low light photography can be divided into two categories: ambient and flash. Flash photography is best when there is enough light. You will need a flash if you don't have enough natural light. Without a flash, it is possible to get a poor picture if the subject is indoors and not outdoors. You can also shoot at night when the moon is shining. This way, you'll get some nice colors and shadows. Another option to consider is shooting during twilight. Twilight occurs when there is still daylight but the sun has set.

Long exposures may be something you want to explore. Long exposures allow you to record images after the shutter has been open for several minutes. The camera records only light falling on the sensor if it is kept closed. This light continues to fall onto a photo sensor throughout a prolonged exposure. But, the shutter remains closed and no new light enters. Therefore, there is very little movement. You can ensure clear images by turning off automatic settings such as autofocus or autoexposure. You should also adjust the ISO setting prior to you start taking photos. A 200 ISO setting gives you greater control over how dark or bright your image looks. Next, click quickly on the shutter button to capture the shot. The shutter will close completely. Hold the shutter button down for the final second. You will prevent additional light from entering your camera by keeping the shutter button down. Once you have taken your picture, wait for a few moments before you release that shutter button. This allows the camera to process the image. You can view your photos while you wait on the camera. Once you are satisfied, save them on your computer.
